IMO her answer to this question should help you decide a great deal. Best of luck!
She says it is a temporary situation but how long do I have to be patient??

I would like to bounce this off all of you and would like some feedback. I think I know what to do but just want to know if I am doing the right thing. Here goes my story,
I have been single now for over ten years. My children are all grown and I have nothing to hold me back. I just met this wonderful lady and have being dating her for the last four months. So far we are getting along, have so much in common and we have had some good times together. I have told her that I would like to take it slow but that we both feel the same for each other. Right now we see each other about once a week. I feel she is not playing games with me and we have been quiet honest with each other to where we would like this relationship to go i.e., eventually a long term commitment. So on my part there is nothing holding me back.
Now on her side she has only being out of her marriage for about a year and still is in the middle of settling and finalizing things with her ex. She also has some health issues, which is no big deal for me as I accept her for who she is although that has a lot to due with her availability. She has a 17 year old daughter that was abused by her step father, my lady friend's ex. It was the only father she knew for most of her life and because of this broken trust, she does not trust men. About a month ago my lady friend tells me that her daughters physiologist says it is not a good time for her (my lady friend) to get involved with one someone right now. The physiologist told her that it would take a couple of months for her daughter to get over this. Her daughter is so protective of her mother, like screening her calls and not giving her mother the messages. For us to meet we have to do it behind her daughters back which makes me feel like I am a 15 year old kid.
My thoughts are, will her daughter ever get over being over protective of her mother? If so how long should I give it? It is just that I really care about my friend, I have told her this and would like to spend a little more time with her without sneeking around. I am also wondering if she (my lady friend) is playing a little cool because of being afraid of commitment due to her bad past relationships. If so do I cool it for a bit? I really would like this to work as like I said previously we seem to have so much in common and these days it is so hard to find someone that you truly click with. I am also being a realists by preparing myself that this might not work out due to the dynamics of the situation. What do others of you think? I know it is hard to give a complete picture of the situation but if you would like any further details feel free to ask.

does anyone remember one of his shows from the late 1970's when john denver was on the show?
i never saw the show but heard about it in the jw circle (urban legend??).
it was known that john denver hated jw's and during their bantering, carson asked denver about his asking jw's to leave during his concerts.
I had heard that John Denver was not a fan of witnesses for their stance of neutrality. He was very patriotic.
That reminds me of another version of the John Denver legend. He supposedly said something like, "We are now going to sing the national athem so before we start to sing it, all you JW can just leave".

I think it was the international assembly in 1973 that Glenn Campbell was rumored too have come to the Vancouver Convention to get baptised. It went was passed all around the convention and had every good dub watching out for Glenn sightings instead of paying attention to the boring talks.

this is for those of you who sent me a private message saying you dont believe me, your letting your old jw traits come out, you know, not believing things when the facts stare you in the face unless it comes from the org.
maybee you should go back and re join them.. to confirm what happened .
i was at a john denver concert in the uk many years ago, he asked all catholics to stand up, after he got them seated he did the same with church of england, then the same with a couple of other religions, after he asked all jw's to stand up he announced that the concert would not go on untill they had all left and he then left the stage.
I always thought that was an Urban legend. You being an eye witness to the event and what you are saying is true, John Denver was wrong. No difference if he asked alll Black people to leave. If that happened could you imagine the outrage!! My mom also tells the story about how John Denver was trashing the JW on The Tonight Show and Johhny Carson asked him to leave. I am not sure if this one is a JW Urban Legend or not.

washington, dc?as the nation approaches the one-year anniversary of the super bowl xxxviii tragedy, an fcc study shows that millions of u.s. children were severely traumatized by the exposure to a partially nude female breast during the feb. 1, 2004 halftime show.. .
"no one who lived through that day is likely to forget the horror," said noted child therapist dr. eli wasserbaum.
""but it was especially hard on the children.".
I wished I could have seen Minnie Pearls boobs....
You just spolied my dinner. Now I can't get that thought out of my head.

that most guys in the borg were .
i mean, i don't know about you, but i remember countless times that situations would develop involving young to old men alike, where me and other non-dub-raised "dudes", would comment that.... what that guy (bro) needs is a good ass-kicking!
i mean a good old fashioned beat your ass whoopin... i mean learn some real "humility" at the hands of your "friends".
I would try not to get into confrontations with others. My experience was that there are other ways to handle situation without always resorting to violence. I am not saying I have not being in a few fights in my life time but it was only used as a last resort. There are ways of saying things that can get back at confrontational types without giving them an "Ass Whipping". If I always stoop to their level than I am no better than they are. Just my two cents worth....

is this censorship?
from cnn :
rolling stone refuses to run ad for bible
I am not against the move as I am sure a conservative magazine would not hesitate to refuse running a liberal based add. Just wanted to throw this out for discussion.

rolling stone refuses to run ad for bible
GRAND RAPIDS, Michigan (AP) -- -- Rolling Stone magazine declined to run an advertisement for a new translation of the Bible aimed at young people, the nation's largest Bible publisher said Wednesday.
Zondervan, a division of HarperCollins Publishers, bought space in the magazine months ago as part of an ad campaign for Today's New International Version, said Doug Lockhart, Zondervan's executive vice president of marketing.
"Last week, we were surprised and certainly disappointed that Rolling Stone had changed their mind and rejected our ad," he said.
A telephone message seeking comment was left Wednesday at the New York headquarters of Wenner Media LLC, publisher of Rolling Stone.
Lockhart said Zondervan, based in Grand Rapids, paid Wenner Media last July to run the ad in February, when the Bible is due on bookshelves.
On Tuesday, USA Today quoted Kent Brownridge, general manager of Wenner Media, as saying his staff first saw the ad copy last week, and "we are not in the business of publishing advertising for religious messages."
Lockhart said the ad features the face of a contemplative-looking young man and includes this copy:
"In a world of almost endless media noise and political spin, you wonder where you can find real truth. Well, now there's a source that's accurate, clear and reliable. It's the TNIV -- Today's New International Version of the Bible. It's written in today's language, for today's times -- and it makes more sense than ever."
Media outlets that agreed to carry the ad include Modern Bride, The Onion, MTV.com and AOL, Lockhart said. AOL, like CNN.com, is a unit of Time Warner.

a friend of mine who is atheist gets all wound up when the subject of noah's flood comes up.
he doesn't rely on scientific discoveries or explanations to deny that the flood happened, he uses his own logic.
some of his statements(some of em are hilarious): .
The flood stories actually predate the bibles version, like the stories of Gilgamesh. They were oral stories that were passed down from one generation to the next. there is no doubt that these stories were based on some facts but it was only a local regional flood account that took in the known civilized world at the time. Over hundreds and thousands of years these oral traditions get stretched out of shaped till we come up with the present day account. These stories were analogical tales, not to be taken literally. There is so many details that cannot not be explained by this flood account.
